There’s nothing better than the smell of a barbeque during the summer. The facilities for visitors to cook outside can really add that special extra something to a holiday cottage; but there are a number of factors to think of before buying one for your property:
-Prices can range from a few pounds to a few hundred. Depending on the property would it be easier to buy a couple of disposable BBQ’s or go all out for a proper gas fired outdoor range?
-Charcoal or Gas? We recently came across a discussion about the legal issues of supplying visitors with a Gas BBQ (Liquid Petroleum Gas) Cylinders for BBQ’s: http://propertytribes.ning.com/forum/topics/do-gas-bbqs-require-a-gas
To save you from trawling the comments it seems from Gas Safe guidance that all LPG Cylinders used for gas BBQ’s need to be inspected every 12 months by a registered Gas Safe Engineer. As this will incur an additional charge for property owners it may be cheaper to instead opt for a bag of charcoal and lighter fluid.
-Who is going to clean it? The insides of BBQ’s are never easy (or fun) to clean. With other domestic chores to do on changeover day will you, or your staff, have the time to keep it clean?
